Frequently asked

Questions we hear most often.

Straight answers to common questions from Malaysian businesses and individuals. If yours is not covered here, use the inquiry form above.

Is the initial consultation free of charge?

+
Yes. We offer an initial consultation at no charge so we can assess the matter, confirm there is no conflict of interest, and advise you honestly on whether MiloPost is the right firm for your situation. If we are not, we will point you toward a practitioner who is better placed to assist.

How does MiloPost charge for legal services?

+
Our fees depend on the nature of the matter. Conveyancing and business registration work is typically charged at fixed rates in line with the Solicitors' Remuneration Order. Litigation and advisory retainers are billed hourly. We provide a written fee estimate before commencing any paid work — there are no surprise charges.

Do you represent individuals as well as companies?

+
Yes. While much of our work involves Malaysian-registered companies, we also assist individual clients on property purchases, employment disputes, and civil litigation. If your matter is personal rather than corporate, please indicate that in the inquiry form and we will route it accordingly.

Which courts and jurisdictions does MiloPost cover?

+
Our solicitors are admitted to practise in Peninsular Malaysia and handle matters before the Magistrates' Court, Sessions Court, High Court, and Court of Appeal. We also advise on matters before the Industrial Court for employment disputes. Cross-border matters are handled in coordination with vetted local counsel in Sabah, Sarawak, and overseas jurisdictions where required.

How quickly can MiloPost take on a new matter?

+
For most new matters, we can complete intake and a conflict check within one business day and begin substantive work promptly. If your matter is time-sensitive — for example, a court deadline or urgent injunction — please state this clearly in your inquiry and follow up by phone during office hours.
